Whistler Bike Trip – Planning

After a rough end of 2019 and a busy start of 2020, I decided that life was too short and I needed a fun trip this year to launch my mountain biking hobby. What better place to go than Whistler Bike Park!

First Time

Seeing as this will be my first trip to Whistler Bike Park, I hope documenting my planning of this adventure might help others. So sit back, put something on in the background, grab comfy spot, a beer, and lets dive in!

Inspiration

If you are here, you probably have already heard of Whistler Bike Park and/or saw video of someone shredding down a trail. This more than likely inspired you to research more and lead you here. During my research for this trip, I routinely watched (several times) some of the below Youtubers and specific videos to keep motivating me during planning.

  • Jordan Boostmaster – Personal go to youtuber
  • Loam Ranger – Has several videos centered around Whistler
  • Skills with Phil – Few videos of his trip to Whistler
  • IFHT Films – Whistler parod/satire videos

Traveling

Passport/International Travel

The first hurdle for myself is to secure a US passport before traveling outside of the USA. According to Whistler’s site and my research, this is the only document that is absolutely required when traveling from USA to Canada. The below URL has additional information around international travel. https://www.whistlerblackcomb.com/international/international-travelers.aspx

To submit for a US passport at the time of this writing, you can fill out the initial DS-11 form and then show up at a passport acceptance facility with your additional supporting information. The information below contained everything I needed.
